Forthcoming at the end of July on the ERC imprint will be Leonid Kogan and Elisabeth Gilels playing Sonatas for Two Violins by Leclair, Teleman and Ysaÿe.
The music presented here allows us a rare insight into the more personal side of Kogan’s performance and interpretation. It provides an intimate portrait together with his wife, Elisabeth Gilels in works of equal stature by Leclair, Telemann and Ysaÿe (known as ‘The King of the Violin’).
A collection of rare and hidden gems, often overlooked for Kogan’s grander concerto performances in Tchaikovsky, Beethoven & Brahms. Kogan displays a brilliant and finely honed technique in these superb recording.
